Message from our Executive Director

Since forming in 2004, Internationals Network for Public Schools’ mission has been to provide quality education for recently arrived immigrants by growing and sustaining a strong national network of innovative International High Schools, while broadening our impact by sharing proven best practices and influencing policy for English learners on a national scale. Our ground-breaking educational approach has been developed by expert practitioners in English learner education for diverse language populations, and is based upon a quarter of a century of school based experience. Throughout our thriving collaborative network of International High Schools, we prepare young immigrant students in critical stages of academic, linguistic, and social transition for high school graduation and post-secondary success.

During fiscal year 2008-2009 Internationals Network accomplished many major milestones. We opened Pan American International High School at Monroe, our second Common Language Model School- a modification for students sharing a common native language. Our seventh High School in New York, The International High School at Lafayette, celebrated their first graduating class along with having their first prom. Also, Internationals Network was honored by MPI, by receiving the E Pluribus Unum Prize of $50,000 for creating stronger, more unified and successful communities that help immigrants and their children succeed in the United States.

We would like to thank everyone for their interest and support, specifically our donors, whose commitments have made our goals possible. Your generosity has opened the doors to the American Dream for our students and their families. With your support we will continue our efforts to ensure all recent immigrant students have access to a quality high school education that prepares them for college, career and full participation in democratic society.
